People like these because they look like single vision lenses and never reveal the need for bifocals. Because of this, they are the lenses of choice for bifocals and trifocals wearers. Polycarbonate - These are the strongest, most impact resistant lenses available and are always the lens of choice for young people and active patients. They are very lightweight, absorb all harmful UV light, and can be made ultra thin because of their unique strength. Hi index - If you need a stronger correction, these lenses are thinner and more attractive. They are often lighter in weight and absorb all harmful UV light. Ultra Violet Protection - The UV rays from the sun can be harmful to the eyes. This special treatment is available and completely blocks hazardous UV light. Anti-Reflection Coating - This coating is particularly effective for reducing eye fatigue for computer operators and anyone driving at night. It also is more attractive because it makes the lens virtually disappear by removing distracting reflections. Photochromic - These are sometimes called "comfort lenses".
