Greenville Eye Clinic provides patients with the finest eye care services and latest technology in the Mississippi Delta. Doctor Lord and the staff are dedicated to providing comprehensive eyecare of the highest quality to our community by utilizing the most up-to-date instrumentation and through continuing education each year. The areas of practice emphasis are general eye health exams, the treatment of ocular disease and comanagement of both laser vision correction surgery and cataract surgery. We are very proud of our experienced staff and the professional eye care services we offer. All of our staff have been in the eye care profession for many years and enjoy working with our patients to assure them that they will maintain a lifetime of healthy eyes and optimal vision.

About Dr. Lord


Dr. Wilburn Lord, Jr. has practiced optometry in private practice since 1977. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and the Southern College of Optometry and has practiced in the Delta for 30 years. He is certified to both diagnose and treat eye diseases and disorders. In 1998, Dr. Lord completed the Southern Diplomat Program and received certification in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma. He is involved with the Diabetic Initiative in MS and has received additional training in the comanagement of laser vision correction surgery.

Dr. Lord is past President of the Mississippi Optometric Association where he currently serves on the Third Party Committee, the Long Range Planning Committee and the Industrial Relations Committee. In November, 2006, the Mississippi Optometric Association honored Dr. Lord with the Optometrist of the Year Award for his outstanding contribution to the Profession of Optometry. He was installed in February ,2008, as President of the Southern Council of Optometrist whose mission is to provide education to optometrists worldwide. Dr. Lord is also a member of the Washington County Opportunity Health Advisory Committee, the American Optometric Association, and the Contact Lens and Corneal Section. Additionally he serves on the Medicare Carrier Advisory Committee. Dr. Lord has also been involved with Leadership Washington County and Kellogg’s Delta Emerging Leaders Class.

Dr. Lord is a member of MS Eye Care, Inc., an optometric service provider to participants of the State and Public Employees Health Plan. He is also a provider for BCBS, Medicare, Medicaid, MS Physician Health Care Network, and United Healthcare.
